The design size is 86 x 71 squares; 86 x 80 squares if the name of the temple is included. If 14-count even-weave material is used, the finished temple will measure about 6” x 5½”.
This temple was built inside the shell of the old Uintah Stake Tabernacle in Vernal, Utah. That tabernacle was dedicated in 1907 by President Joseph F. Smith. This was the first temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints built using an existing structure.
It is the 51st temple in operation today and is the 10th temple to be built in Utah. It was dedicated on November 2, 1997, by President Gordon B. Hinckley.
