The William O. and Mary C. Crowther Family: Their Lives, Ancestors, and Descendants

As we grow older, the thoughts and hearts of members of The William O. and Mary C. Crowther Family turn to our ancestors. They were people of great courage! They had the courage to leave their homes and families and to travel to an unknown land where they prepared the way for us to have a better life today. Some of them died as they journeyed across the American heartland. The ones who were left kept on going, strengthened by their faith that God was guiding them and showing them the way. They built their own roads and hewed out new homes with their own hands and with the materials that were available at the time. The intriguing stories of their lives are a rich part of our heritage. We, their descendants, take pride in preserving their history and in our eternal relationship to them as members of the Crowther family. This book was prepared, primarily, by the sons and daughters of W. O. and Mary, though numerous other family members participated in its preparation. This family-produced book is a significant source for those who wish to know the history of their Crowther ancestors and to trace their living descendants today.

Duane Crowther arranged for the printing and binding of the book, doing so through his publishing company: Horizon Publishers & Distributors, Inc., and he remains involved in the book’s distribution. Two generations have been born since the family book was prepared, so there are many who can learn much concerning their forefathers and their heritage by turning the pages of this in-depth, carefully prepared family history.

As we grow older, the thoughts and hearts of members of The William O. and Mary C. Crowther Family turn to our ancestors. They were people of great courage. They had the valor to leave their homes and families and to travel to an unknown land where they prepared the way for their descendants to have a better life today. They built their own roads and hewed out new homes with their own hands and with the materials that were available at the time. They wrote their own songs, learned to play instruments, and made their own music as they went along. They laid their loved ones away when the time came.
