Description
By Duane S. Crowther
Israel: Past, Present and Future is a thorough explanation of the history and prophetic destiny of the House of Israel. It begins with a summary of Old Testament history, telling of Abraham, Isaac, and of Jacob (who later was renamed Israel). The history is traced though the reign of the judges, the united kingdom, and the division into the nations of Israel and Judah. The conquest of Israel by Assyria and the deportation of the “lost ten tribes” are explained, as are the fall of Judah to Babylonia, the period of Babylonian exile, and the return of the Jews to rebuild the Jerusalem temple. The author tells of the intervening period and of the eventual destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 A.D.
The scenario moves to the present, as the re-establishment of the nation of Israel is described. But the major focus of the discussion is on the many prophecies of future events which will involve Israel world-wide. Numerous scriptural prophecies are explained, culminating in descriptions of the future rule of David the Prince, the great Battle of Armageddon, the prophesied appearance of the Lord on the Mount of Olives, and events during His millennial reign.
