This temple is located in Belleview, Washington, an eastern suburb of Seattle, near I90. It is the 19th temple in operation and is the first temple built in the northwest United States and also the first in the state of Washington. It was dedicated on November 17, 1980, by President Spencer W. Kimball. It is the last temple he personally dedicated, although 17 more temples were dedicated during the remaining years of his presidency.
