A Latter-day Saint View of Christ and the Trinity presents a carefully documented understanding of the true nature of Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Ghost from a broad spectrum of Biblical texts. The talk draws extensively from the scriptures, giving careful documentation to the many aspects of their message. It portrays Christ’s position as the Only Begotten Son of the Father, showing his pre-mortal, mortal, spirit world, and resurrected status. It shows that each of the members of the Godhead is a separate entity; they are united in purpose but each is still a distinct individual. The talk analyzes widely accepted creeds, showing that they underwent an eight-step doctrinal evolution concerning the true nature of God. Understanding the nature of God is the key to eternal life, yet some of modern Christianity clings to creeds which differ from the teachings of the Bible. This discussion challenges erroneous beliefs which have altered the true Biblical teachings concerning the nature of God. For instance: (Error 1) mainline Christianity has rejected the literal resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Error 2) Christian theologians have adopted an unscriptural definition of what a spirit is. (Error 3) Passages which teach that God is a spirit are misinterpreted to imply He doesn’t also have a tangible body. (Error 4) They deny the Biblical teaching that God the Father is the Father of the spirits of all mankind. The discussion also challenges the erroneous assertions that man in God’s image debases God; that no man has seen God; that passages showing the nature of God are anthropomorphisms; and more. Most certainly, A Latter-day Saint View of Christ and the Trinity is a powerful testimony which gives praise, honor, and glory to the Most High God, to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to the Holy Spirit who bears witness of truth to honest seekers of God’s words.
