Information about the audio download Biblical Proofs of the Book of Mormon
The message of this carefully researched talk focused on Biblical Proofs of the Book of Mormon is intended for all who wish to study and evaluate the scriptural basis for the Latter-day Saint claim that it is a book inspired by God.
After thoroughly summarizing the history recorded in the Book of Mormon, the author treats in detail each of the significant passages found in the Bible which refer to it, or to the people whose history is recorded in that sacred book.
Careful verse-by-verse explanations are made, illustrating the strong Biblical evidence that Old Testament prophets, and the Savior himself, knew that God was speaking to people in areas other than the Middle East and that the Latter-day Saint scripture would someday come forth as another testament of Jesus Christ.
The passages analyzed include prophetic statements by the Savior, Jacob, Ezekiel, the Psalmist, and Isaiah. Isaiah’s prophecies are particularly detailed and unique, providing prophetic evidence concerning the coming forth of the Book and the fall of the Nephite nation. Ezekiel’s prophecy of the two sticks (the records of Judah and Joseph) being joined together is significant, as is Jacob’s (Israel’s) prophecy of Joseph’s descendants being separate from the rest of the house of Israel and coming to the everlasting hills.
These prophecies have often been overlooked by Bible scholars because they lacked knowledge of their exact fulfillment. In this very meaningful talk, the author’s message is effectively presented in an easy-to-understand form. It ends with the scriptural promises which show the listener how to gain a revealed witness of the truthfulness of this inspired book of scripture.
